We've ordered our flooring for the new house today.
We're looking at keeping the current house as an investment property, which means that we won't have any proceeds from the sale to finish off the new house with. We'll only sell this house if we can get about $300,000 for it, because it was worth that a year ago and should be again as the market ( Read more... )

Vinyl flooring is great. My boss reckons its the best thing you can have on a floor. Vinyl is not cold or slippery when wet, it does not chip or crack, it handles spills of anything and it can take a real beating before it wears out. Since it doesn't need to be glued down it's quick and easy to replace when it does wear out.
Apparently you can get 3 kinds of underlay, thin (firm), medium and thick (soft but more susceptible to damage by pointy things landing on it).
I like that one of the patterns is called Yoda Black ;)
