Knee Surgery

So, in case anyone is out of the loop -- I am recovering from knee surgery. The particular culprit that caused all the problems is called "Patellar Tendinosis". Go ahead. Google it. You'll find hardly anything because it's pretty rare ( Read more... )

Hope it works out well. Do you have to get hooked up to a "pain machine" like I did after my ACL surgery? Dayum that hurt!

Nope, I didn't have one of those, but I did have a whole lot of home-based PT exercises that hurt so bad I couldn't do them until the pain went way back down.

How'd you blow your ACL anyway? (Surgically, btw, they cut off a little bit more of my patellar tendon than they did on yours (or did you get tendon from a dead guy?), but they didn't have to open up my knee joint and rebuild a tendon either.)

Broke it doing a jump front kick. Turns out that is a pretty common way to break your ACL, actually. They cut off part of a tendon to repair the ACL (I think it was the patellar tendon, but I'm not sure).
