I spent some time in college writing everything (everything!) as a mashup of Thomas Pynchon and Friedrich Nietzsche. Made for some fascinatingly weird term papers.

Nowadays, rather than figure out my voice for a particular tale, I work on figuring out the individual characters' voices, and let them inform the narrative voice.
