Thanks! But maybe the contrast is not as big as it seems... Sex, violence -- they're pretty closely tied together for Slayers and vampires!

Hardly a contrast at all. I love this because it speaks truth - Buffy and Spike had a relationship born of violence. He almost killed her in this episode as he almost did in School Hard. Her ties to the world made the difference both times. Taking her "out of the world" and into the dark was a project bound for failure.

This is freaking amazing! Wow! It's full of surprises, which actually surprises me. I thought I'd looked at every scene from all angles, but the parallels are stunning!

Thank you; it's really nice to hear that my little vid got you thinking! I went into making it without a clear plan, but with the clips and the music and the lyrics, it all just kind of flowed together naturally. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out myself!

And I agree with your assessment of the Spuffy relationship. Although I can certainly appreciate fluff and schmoop when I'm in the mood, on the whole I much prefer vids and fics that show the relationship between Buffy and (pre-soul) Spike in all its harsh and violent glory. As you say, their relationship was born in violence, and that's one of the reasons why I like it so much. Those two came such a long way together!
