My first post to sb_ashtray, which breaks a whole month of writers' block (though I know it's not gone for good). Taken from sb_fag_ends' first punk month, way back in 2010. As usual, it's very imaginatively titled.

Oh god, poor Buffy, hell poor Spike. He'd doomed them both but in different ways.

Golly. The ripples from this alternative are awe-inspiring. No cure for Dru, for one thing. No future for Buffy. And no purpose for Spike. *sad feels* I see Giles & crew soldiering on, but they'll lose Xander in "Inca Mummy Girl" and and Cordelia in "Reptile Boy". Willow may fall prey to Ford's "old friend of Buffy's" line in "Lie to Me", and after Eyhgon takes Jenny, I see Giles riding off into the sunset with Ethan. Maybe they bring forth Acathla?

This is really wonderful, in that horrible tragic way. Great job!

Thanks, love. Yes, it looks pretty bleak for everyone. I don't think it'll go well for Spike either. Even if Dru is cured some other way, she'll still leave him.

Oh I would say you've put a huge crack in that block! This was/is wonderful. Can picture him as he falls to his knees and feels what he's done - even if he doesn't understand it. Well done!
