Yo-yoing flamingos flashed across William’s spectacles.
“Carnival of the Animals and yo-yoing flamingos,” he said. “It’s rather genius. We should model some of your agility training on this.”
“Hey, I’m always up for yo-yos,” she said.
On screen, the star flamingo entangled six others in a pentagram string with only one claw. Honestly, Buffy could easily admit that this was far more impressive than anything she’d ever done. “This is everything I didn’t know I wanted,” William said in awe.
The empty popcorn bucket was positioned neatly on the endtable beside William. Their feet were propped up on the coffee table, which was piled over with cushions. A fluffy quilt was drawn over both of them and it was warm.
“Yes,” she said, “everything I’ve ever wanted.”
