I have this habit. It's not a regular habit; biting nails, smoking, picking your nose and eating it(I hear that's tasty). It's a very different habit. It's an offensive habit. I talk. Your sister was being a tool, plain and simple. I know that sounds mean, but it's true. I like the country I live in, and I understand that a flag is a symbol of a country, but how someone can love either one I don't really understand. I take the idea of love seriously; for me it only applies to certain people and certain animals.

Patriotism is like the ring in the nose of a cow, it's an awesome device to lead people around by. You teach people that they must love something as complex as a country, or as generic as a piece of cloth, and then you can make them do anything.

The only thing that bothers me about your post is that you imply that tact and carefully choosing your words is a bad thing. It is not, and can be just as effective, or more, than being blunt. Blunt people usually just consider words from thier own point of view before they say them.
