It's time for the Ten Ns! Or at least the first two.

1. NaNoWriMo - Short for National Novel Writing Month. You can check it out here. It's one gigantic writing prompt to force you into actually doing something which you've always planned on doing but somehow never got around to - that is to say, changing that broken light bulb. (Not really. ( Read more... )

I wish you had mentioned the novel thing before, because I am very interested, but I don't know that I have time right now (I wish it were in January or Febuary) and I've already missed a day (plus I have two three day field trips, a ski trip and going home for Thanksgiving, and I should study for the LSATs). Still, I think I may try to write a novel second term. Just for the hell of it.

As for your Nexus, I think it will still be gradiated enough that people won't really notice except for the whole "remember five years ago" thing. Also, the internet is going to need to start telling me about more interesting places to go, cause I exhaust my standards pretty fast and if I can waste all my time on the ole web I need content that I'm interested in and is easily avaliable. Reading random wikipedia articles can only interest me for so long.

I've been contemplating NaNoWriMo for at least three years now, and every year I find another reason to stay away from it for twelve more months.

I always use the excuse, "With Thanksgiving and ::insert travel plans here::, I'll never have enough time or be able to stay on schedule!"

Glad you're not allowing yourself to fall into the same trap.

Bird By Bird. YES.
It's much easier to do some free-writing when all the bars close at 11 p.m. and there are only three other people in your city who speak English fluently.

I'm coming home for Christmas... where are you going to be for the holidays?

Wow - communication from the netherworld. I have this strange feeling that you had to write this comment down on parchment and send it via passenger pigeon to the nearest Internet black-marketeer to get it out to me. If you did, hang on to that passenger pigeon; I hear they're rare these days.

As for the holidays, I'll be in California for the News Years era. My family should be coming out then so that we can all enjoy the Rose Bowl and its eponymous parade together. No idea about Christmas itself yet. Is home home Seattle now? How long will you be in America? Should we stock cheeses and a variety of finished metals for you to marvel at?
