[Arashi/K8] Potato - Aiba x Yoko - 05/1999
I find Aiba and Yoko's friendship utterly adorable and so unsurprisingly, this took next to no time to finish translating too. XD There's also a Nino x Suba crosstalk in this same issue of Potato, which I might do if there's enough interest?

Aiba-kun and Yokoyama-kun are perfectly in tune with each other and get along extremely well even usually.
Without further ado, let's drop in on the lively talk of this famous combination!
Aiba: Recently, you found a dog at a pet shop that you liked, didn't you?
Yokoyama: Right! It totally became a favourite. I just decided that it was "my dog" on my own though.
Aiba: When we go there Yokoyama-kun would just stare at that dog the entire time, and not move from his spot at all (laugh). But that dog really is cute.
Yokoyama: Right!? It's super cute!
Aiba: ...thinking about it now, I hang out and go shopping with Yokoyama-kun quite a lot.
Yokoyama: We went out to buy game software about two days ago too. The one that I bought turned out pretty interesting, actually.
Aiba: Really? ...the one I bought was a miss...
Yokoyama: Uwah, how lame~! (laugh) Ah, and the way you talk started sounding a bit like Kansaiben lately, right? That's also pretty lame so I think stopping would be a good idea (laugh).
Aiba: You're one to talk! Yokoyama-kun uses Tokyoben sometimes too.
Yokoyama: That's true... sometimes I'd realize that I just said things like "Jyan?" without noticing, it feels really gross...
Aiba: Maybe we unconsciously affect each other without really noticing?
Yokoyama: We see each other on things like "Tokyo Bistro Johnny" and "8 Jida J", but there's a feeling of us being together all the time, more than the number of actual times we meet.
Aiba: That's true. But you know, even though we get along well now, I honestly thought Yokoyama-kun was a scary looking person in the very beginning.
Yokoyama: And I had blond hair too.
Aiba: But, you made dinner for me a while ago, so in reality Yokoyama-kun's really gentle.
Yokoyama: About that, you should help out a bit you know (laugh). I ended up doing everything on my own. Like I was your mom or something!
Aiba: But wasn't I the one who cleaned everything up afterwards~! (laugh) Yokoyama-kun drops things when he eats and drops clothes around when he takes them off, so it's a lot of work to clean up too!
Yokoyama: Maybe it's better if we were both a little more considerate towards the other then (laugh).
Aiba: Oh well, I'm already used to it anyway.
Yokoyama: Ah, I just thought of one more thing! When we go to the conbini together, we always split the costs, right?
Aiba: Right, we do.
Yokoyama: I think I really lose out with that.
Aiba: There's no such thing~
Yokoyama: No! I only bought really cheeeaap stuff, but you bought kind of expensive stuff, so when we add them up together and split the costs I lose out!
Aiba: Really?
Yokoyama: Yes! When you think about it carefully I'm shelling out a little more than I should.
Aiba: Is that so... well, whatever. Okay okay, I got it (laugh).
Yokoyama: What's with that, that forced way of replying. Seriously, can't you use a more idol-like way of speaking? (laugh)
Aiba: (clears throat) I've been completely beaten by Yokoyama-kun.
Yokoyama: Uwah, this guy just became super idol-like.
Aiba: (laugh) ...for some reason, talking to Yokoyama-kun is really fun.
