They make these cool little devices that plug into the headphone jack of your i-pod or any mp3 player really....they transmit an fm radio signal to an unused channel, and then you just tune your radio to that channel and voila! Your mp3 player is now playing in your car.....you can get them at wal-mart for like 60 bucks. I've got one....I'll try to remember to bring it to Heartland so you can try it.

Want to help me pick a replacement phone? I'd like one that doesn't have extra hidden costs if I want to receive a phone call.

Never buy name brand on this kind of stuff. The tech is cheap and easy. Knock-offs work just as well if not better then some of the name brands.
You can get FM transmitters for about $20 if you know where to look. If your looking for a real good deal and want to search a little, a quick search of Google shopping yielded many results in a varied range from $4 - $23 dollars. Go to Amazon and you can get them even cheaper used. Many dollar stores sell them. I know the family dollar by me sells adapters for $10 bucks or less. I am not a big fan of FM adapters cause they can be tricky and will pick up interference from the outside.
If you still have a tape deck in your vehicle, you can buy a cassette adapter for 5-10 bucks. That is what I use. I get them at CVS.
Don't look at is as a scheme to get more money out of you. In some cases, it is. It's unfortunate, but it no different then buying an extension cord or a power strip so you can plug things in.

Thanks guys. It's funny how a commentary about pocket phones has morphed into a discussion about ipods.
