I would just like to say, rather randomly, that every time I watch "Women's Work" I get depressed not only by the subject matter, but because since it was made there's been enough new horrible gender BS to make several sequels. One for each season! o god why do i still watch this show

I agree with you. I have a problem reconciling the gender issues with my love of the show - make no mistake, I love the show. Because of this, though, "Women's Work" is hard as hell for me to watch. It brings those issues to the forefront and makes me acknowledge that they are there.

But that's also why I think it's so important.

Yes. It made me face up to issues in the show I hadn't really been acknowledging before then, and the timing of when I first saw it also contributed to my beginning to learn just how pervasive -isms are in our society. And the very fact that this vid is still getting recced and talked about speaks pretty clearly to how much it needs to exist. Nothing wrong with enjoying problematic entertainment (I would argue that virtually all entertainment is problematic in some way), but I think it's important to be aware of those problems to try and avoid consuming and assimilating them.

You're most emphatically welcome.

And, hey, I listened to the new Duran Duran album while I was tagging the entry, so, you know. Wild Boys for the win, indeed. ;)
