read this. This is a masterful piece of writing. As much as I love this author and despite my confidence in her ability to pull off a believable AU - see We Know Each Other As We Always Were, one of two non-hunting AU's in this fandom that totally sucked me in - I looked at the word count and wondered how she was going to pull off a believable normal world incest love story in that word count. Not only did she achieve it - this story exceeds all my hopes and expectations. The relationship that develops between Sam and Dean is organic and believable and their characters are firmly rooted in the boys we love from canon who will always turn to and be there for each other when times are rough. The reader is dropped into the action from the first scene and I found I was unable to stop reading until the very last word. This story is packed full of nuances and subtleties and completely pulled me into a normal world where two brothers are still the most important thing in the others life.

He lives quietly at the edge of the circle of friends he went to school with, and avoids everybody else -- until the new guy in town crashes a bike in front of Jensen's store and wedges himself into Jensen's world.
read this. This fic sizzles with sexual tension and amazing characterization. Anyone who has attempted to find themselves will identify with Jensen’s characterization. Anyone who has wanted someone patient, kind and understanding to love them - in spite of their faults - will adore Jared. This is full of amazing lines, funny moments, and laugh out loud dialogue. The story unfolds subtly revealing greater depth and layers with every paragraph. All of the minor characters are beautifully sketched and inhabit this world completely. This is a story I found myself reading slowly, never wanting it to end. I rarely fall in love with characters in fanfiction but I found myself not just deeply attached to the story, but to the Jared and Jensen who inhabit it.
reccer's note. Both these fics play to my joy of love stories that have that only-you, meant-to-be, one-true-love vibe. It's something I never get tired of reading especially when it's done this well, with fabulous pacing, mounting sexual tension and beautiful story-telling. I will come back to both of these again and again.
