Edward is not sure how he got up to the top of this abandoned lighthouse with Patrick and furthermore, he's not sure when he signed a suicide pact with the man. "We can leave it all," Patrick says, his fingers turning white around the metal rail. "I don't know how to make music that sounds like the world underwater, do you?"
"This is not research," says Ed, yanking Patrick's hands off the rail and putting them on him.

Pete grabs a branch above him and shakes. Patrick tries to step away, but petals fall everywhere around him and he's caught in the storm. He looks up at Pete and gives him the finger. Pete says faintly, "you've got something on your face," as Patrick brushes petals away. He jumps down, landing with a wince. "You've got something on your face."
He tweaks Patrick's nose. Patrick socks him in the hip and pulls him forward. "Your face," he corrects, brushing petals and bark off of Pete's cheeks. He kisses him.
