It was ugly and messy and real, and I’m still standing here, and I’m still going back to work tomorrow.

I am so impressed by how solid the characterizations are. They're exactly themselves, even though those selves are different: this Jim's response to the Kobayashi Maru (as contrasted with reboot canon Jim) is wonderful.

I love this story so, so much, and this chapter is particularly brilliant. The last line is a killer.

I was excited enough just seeing an update but this one in particular delivered soooo much. I loved finally seeing what Jim has been up to during the day - and nice fit, making Pike the idealist towards some revolution to come even if Jim is still too jaded to believe in it completely. And after that harsh real at the end, who could blame him? But I'm so glad Bones finally opened that door in a smart, caring way (do I detect Pike's influence behind the scenes?), even if the result was, unsurprisingly, devastating.

In conclusion, NEED MORE NOW PLEASE. *grabby hands* :D

Brillant chapter, you learn some very interesting news about Jim and Pike, lots of angst and than this cliffhanger, aaaaarrrggghh, hope i don't have to wait too long for the next chapter :)
