Last week, I started my "Persona" review discussing villains...well, for "Siren", I'm gonna start off with the heroes :)

Black Canary / Dinah Lance

Most of the Black Canary knowledge I have stems from watching Justice League Unlimited and Birds of Prey and the few comics I've read when she has appeared with the Justice League, so I'm no expert on her ( Read more... )

Good review, SPT. I was fairly observant of most of the same points that you address in your review ( ... )

Clark was superjealous and protective about Chloe with Oliver and I was glad to see that we got to see a of insight into his feelings about her in that regard.

I think we're supposed to see that Chlollie is not quite the great teamup that Chlark is. I really think they made it that way to show why Chlark works and Chlollie doesn't.

I did think the Canary Cry sucked and it bugged me that it made Clark's ears bleed. First, he should be able to block out somethign like that after a few seconds but really, even if it did hurt I can't accept it would make his invulnerable Kryptonian ears BLEED ( ... )

"And yes, I do think Ollie endangered Chloe by not thinking ahead or pre-paring for the worst which he has to do since he isn't superpowered. And I didn't like that questioning of Chloe's abilities either. But Ollie does let her get into the fray and if Clark had his way, he'd leave Chloe behind most of the time to protect her and that is nnot the kind of life the real Lois Lane wants to lead. Clark needs to get over it and realize that Chloe will get in the middle of whatever goes on and the best way to protect her is to be by her side ( ... )

THLois' said danger was her business.
Lois Lane doesn't have a problem risking her neck to get a story or the truth. In "Birthright", Supes is impressed with her because "she's not afraid".

Lois is always a risk-taker and when Supes comes into the picture, she gets more confident to take even BIGGER risks b/c she knows he'll be there for her.

I think the fact that Chloe is not afraid is HUGE.

But, there are times when Supes can't take Lois with him.

"Not all partnerships are equally effective or productive."

Well, and Oliver Queen is no Clark Kent.

"It seems like the show is really making a point this season to show Clark overlooking Chloe for some reason."

From what I've seen, it's the exact opposite. Clark is starting to wake up and notice her more.

I think for them to show that BC was a real threat, we had to see Clark affected by it. He may be mostly invincible, but Superman can be hurt by others with different powers.

Not grieving over Grant and then moving onto Ollie just makes EDLois look bad.
