CHARACTERS: Any and all. DATE: Oct. 25th (day 16) RATING: PG-13, roughly. SUMMARY: It's time for the third mission, although things are slightly different this time around.
Erik's Group(s)/Alliestoken_vengeanceOctober 27 2011, 03:28:49 UTC
[Erik can't see the invisible pumpkins, but he can sense that something is off. Besides the spirits, besides the strange jack o lanterns lighting their path.
It seems too quiet. He knows it isn't going to be the same as last time, but he's still unsettled.
There is a large amount of them this time. Both good and bad. A test of his skills.
At the entrance, Erik stops.]
This is too easy.
[Much too easy.]
[ooc: Feel free to start sub threads for each group or whatever! Have fun you crazy kids. If you're Recon/Support you can start your own threads in the proper areas above.]

[Liv has stayed close, her firearm not out of its holster, but her hand on it in case anything should surprise them along the way. Nothing does, however. It really is too easy.]
Stuff like this always is, isn't it? Wasn't there a hyena last time? Don't suppose they've decided to give us a break on this one, after all the paranormal activity lately.
[After his last visit to the forest, Stephen isn't taking chances, the assault rifle in his hand more than ready, eyes on the surrounding trees.]
Something has to be scaring all the other creatures off. [He wasn't planning on speaking up at all, but the trip so far had his instincts on edge. He had spent 72 hours in this forest, and not a minute of them had been as empty and silent as their trip to the lair.]
[He had gone with them of course, figuring some form of relationship and feel for everyone would be nice] The challenge is always only as difficult as you perceive it and how the rest of the team can make it.
[He should serve tea as he says this, but he's outwardly calm even if he's looking around.]
[Unlike last time when Eliot stumbled upon the group, this time he actually joined with a mission in mind. He remained alert to his surroundings waiting for the first attack, any sign of danger no matter how innocent seeming, yet like Erik said, there was nothing.]
He's right. [Small nod at Stephen, then to Erik.] This feels off. Like the eye of the storm.
[Liv smirks faintly at Erik's remark regarding Iroh's words of wisdom. But they're expecting the worst, so the amusement doesn't last very long.]
We should be so lucky. You suppose if we take care of whatever's ahead, we'll actually stop the madness with these... restless spirits? [At least they aren't glimmers and bleed over from the other universe.]

[Chimera's with them of course, quiet, but there. It's a change from how much he tends to talk sometimes, but he knows very well when it's time to be quiet and pay attention to your surroundings.
After he takes a few deep breaths, getting used to the scent of the forest, what he'd smelled along the way and is smelling now, he chooses to speak up. He doesn't care at the moment that what he's about to say is probably going to sound a little odd.]
Something is here, or was. I can smell it, except it's all a little confusing. I might be able to track it though.
[He chuckles, letting Erik's words roll right off him]
You should all allow those words to properly sink in. There is most definitely something here, but the more tense you are, the more challenging it will be.
[Seriously this guy is on high alert just doesn't show it because he knows it could be bad.
Then he'll look to Chimera and blink just slightly, not quite saying anything in response though. He was getting somewhat used to these things.]
I don't know, Olivia. I wouldn't be surprised if you're right.
[He turns to regard Chimera, nodding.]
Can you tell what it is?
[He looks over at Stephen for a moment--he's a tracker, from what he remembers from their conversation. This might just work.]
Splitting into two groups might be a good idea; if not now, but later. Cover more ground that way.
[ooc: It might be interesting of Chimera and Stephen went off to track the big beast or whatever, but idk how well that would work within the threading structure? idk something to think about. You know--Chimera's nose, Stephen's dinosaur skillz. :D]
[Stephen gave an unquestioning nod, ready to follow Mystique if for no reason other than Erik put her there, and from what he had seen, the man knew what he was doing, organizationally. It made sense. He shifted closer to Chimera, giving the younger guy a curious, masked look.]
Let me know if you get a good idea on where this thing might have been. [He needed somewhere to start.]

Thank you for the fortune cookie.
[Meaning that he doesn't see how what the other said would help. Powers are good. Zen statements? Currently not so much. ]
I doubt it's a break; if it's a trap--the fact we expect it leads to our advantage.
[And if it's as Stephen says...]
It's something big, or they've been contained to be released later.

[Stephen gave a nod to Chimera, crouching down to check out a few dragging marks along the ground with interest.]
If you can find a clearer trail, by all means. I can get an idea of what we're dealing with if there's a trail to go off of.
Footprint, claw marks, anything to give an idea of what we're dealing with so we're not going into this completely blind.

We can keep in touch with the comms about anythin' we come across.
[Eliot tapped his headset in both indication of what they all wear and as a check on Hardison on the other end.]

[Erik looks over at Raven, giving her a flicker of a smile, and then nods back to the group.]
Second group will be lead by Mystique. I want Peter, Chimera, and Stephen to go with her.
[He pauses.]
I want Eliot, Sylar, and Iroh with me. The rest of you can split as you want.
