The scent of decent food drew her in. Elektra did not have the first clue how to cook. She always had other take care of that for her. She was too busy learning what she deemed to be more important things (martial arts, how to run her family's business, etc.) to really stop to consider the possibility that it may be a valuable skill to possess.

Since the mission her head was too filled up with other things to really remember to eat regularly. So here she was glancing a little too eagerly at what Eliot was doing for her own taste. It seemed a good a time as any to get to know the man now that things were seemingly calm anyways. He was clearly a skilled man. That made him worth talking to.

"So this is what you do in your free time." She smiles at him as she approaches. Outside the mission, it's clear to see she's a lot more social.

Eliot smiled, recognizing the voice even before seeing the rest of Elektra's lovely figure. "Only sometimes," he answered as he finished up washing some of the equipment and began placing them away. His movements through the kitchen was graceful for his large form, and it was apparent that he frequented this kitchen, or kitchens in general, often.

Putting the last knife back on its block, he unrolled his sleeves and took up a spot by the center counter. Several empty styrofoam containers were stacked on it, along with bountiful amounts of squash and vegetables held in a large mixing bowl and plate. He hadn't gotten around to packing them away yet but was about to start. "Beats canned or raw stuff. They have a farm and a greenhouse here, it's less questionable than some of the things they have on the shelves."

He gestured to the colorful plate of sauteed vegetables. "You want some?"

Elektra watches him move around. She can't help being impressed. Eliot was a fighter much like her but, handling himself in the kitchen did not escape him the way it did her. She idly wondered if maybe she should be going to him for cooking lessons before his question grabbed her attention. That saved her the trouble of swallowing her pride enough to ask. She's grateful for that.

"I didn't even know we had that," she says with a distracted smile. "I wouldn't say no. It looks delicious." Elektra scans it before glancing up at him curiously. "Who taught you to do this?" It's clear he was a master at this. Someone with talent must have taught him.

Eliot arched up his eyebrows when Elektra claimed to not know about the farm and greenhouse. The girl must not have done a lot of exploring, which he also found surprising. That, however, wasn't something he said aloud, unlike his comment, which was delivered with a smile. "It's messy but decent. I'll show you around sometime."

He pulled out a plate and heaped a healthy serving of mixed vegetables and squash onto it before pushing it towards her. "Most of it's self learned," he admitted with a twinkle in his eye as if he guessed her thoughts. "Here, try that while I get you some soup."

She hadn't been around long enough to gather up the interest. As much as she loved the idea of going about freely that fact that was here was enough to hold her off even if she had the time. Elektra wouldn't be against a tour though. She wasn't a child. She had no intention of being indignant enough not to explore her surroundings forever.

"I'd appreciate it. I didn't have time before the tremors struck," she confesses before accepting the food. Elektra doesn't miss that twinkle. Wasn't he full of surprises? She liked that in a person. It kept things interesting.

Not that she had time to say as much. Once he gave her the go ahead she ate a little too eagerly. Elektra has enough self control to stop after a few bites. "It's delicious."

"Yeah, those tremors. At least those are over, huh?" Eliot went to get the soup when he saw Elektra was distracted by the food.

While his back was turned over the pot, he smiled proudly at the compliment. "Thanks," he said, returning to place a bowl down in front of her. He drew his stool over to sit beside her and propped an elbow on the counter. "You seem different when you're not so serious."

"Yeah. Good riddance." Elektra smiles at his comment. Her last fight with Matt had been fun but, the mission was different. This was about winning her freedom. She had to take it seriously.

"I'm not usually that tense if you haven't guessed already," she says casually. What she's saying is mostly true. Elektra was always tense to some degree. She just hid it. "Normally I'm much more social. I like talking to people when I get the chance."

"Me too," Eliot claimed, his accent thickening as he laid on the charm. "I like socializin' when we're not fightin' for our lives." Elektra wasn't the only serious one during the mission, as he had shown himself to be too after his initial introduction. Like most people, he smiled more outside of life and death situations, like the friendly one he sent Elektra's way.

"There's more if you want more," he said when he noticed how quickly the lady finished her food. "I'm afraid the chicken's not ready though." And at the rate people dropped by, he wondered if he shouldn't have cooked two.

"I think we all do to some extent. It's hard to carry a conversation during a fight," Elektra says playfully. It felt nice to just eat a good meal and talk. Elektra feels like she hadn't done it in forever. "I'll try to pace myself before the chicken comes out."

She glances down at her plate before moving onto the soup with an embarrassed smile. "I haven't really gotten a chance to eat much either," she admits with a soft laugh. "I guess I've gotten a little too into training."

"Training?" Eliot saw her in action already during their impromptu 'mission' and deduced she had skills. Now that she brought the topic up, his eyebrows went up with interest. The corners of his lips followed in a friendly smile. "I take it you've been to the trainin' hall northside? I go there regularly too."
