I loved perfume as a child. Then my nose got more subtle and discerning, and I ran away from commercial scents. Out of curiosity, what would the 'perfume oil' consist of? Straight up oils, or alcohol/oil composite? :)

Mostly oils. I dilute slightly so as to not be using straight EO's on the skin, and the actual percentage depends on the ideal dilution for each ingredient (some of them are overpowering, others much fainter) - but generally my blends will be in the 20-60% active ingredients range, varying by ingredient strength, and I use Jojoba instead of alcohol as a primary diluent (although certain resinous ingredients are mixed with alcohol prior to blending, to make them more liquid.)

I also have a fixative, derived from corn, which can be added to enhance staying power of certain blends (in the case that someone's favorite notes are things like citrus oils which evaporate quickly.)

Do you have a blend that smells like the pages in old books? The first thing my wife does with a book is open it up and INHALE and look blissful so I'd like to get this for her.

And yes, we've tried BAL's Buggre Alle this Bible from the Gaiman collection. Not quite, but she can't express what's missing.

I am working on one which smells like a used bookstore (not just the books but the other smells as well) - although I'm still working on getting the ingredients to be compatible in solubility.

Yeah, I also found Buggre Alle This Bible to not be quite the thing. There's a kind of... sweet spiciness that I was looking for and didn't find.
