From the round-up of Week One, this is what happened in the Perry household
last time: Things started off well for Britta and her husband, Joel, but Joel had a wandering eye that couldn't be helped, apparently, and he ended up having an affair with Trinity Royal. Poor Britta found out right after she gave birth to their daughter, Remy, and she promptly kicked her now-ex-husband out. It took her a little while, but she finally moved on to Craig, and she already asked him to move in - she wants a big family, and one kid won't cut it! Britta's family will now be known as Perry I, while her ex's update will be Perry II.
We start the update by seeing Britta's dreams of a huge family beginning to take shape: she's pregnant again! The father is her new boyfriend, Craig.
Despite the fact that she's about to have his child, Britta does feel all that close to her new beau. She doesn't snuggle up with him like she used to with her husband. He's just sort of... there.
Britta is starting to feel restless and unhappy with the turns that her life have taken.
She can't even concentrate on cooking a simple meal and ends up setting the whole fricking thing on fire.
Luckily, they had a fire alarm and a firefighter showed up in time that we didn't have to worry about having another almost-zombie in the neighborhood.
Britta feels like she can't take it anymore, though. This is not the life she wants.
So, she cuts Craig loose, promising that he can still see his unborn child later...
...and she starts off with a clean slate, both metaphorically and literally when it comes to her art.
Seriously, Joel? What the hell are you up to?
Wow, you're so mature.
And oops, forgot to edit that picture. Oh well, too lazy to do it now...
After he kicked over his old trashcan, though, he was actually cordial enough when Britta greeted him.
Hey, look at that - no more enemies! That's great news - especially if it means less risk of knocked-over trashcans and cockroaches.
Invisi-pop! Britta is about to be a mother again...
Meanwhile, the child she does have already is seeing her father again for the first time in a while. Aw!
Joel does care about his daughter, despite what happened with her mother.
And he's also here for a momentus occasion: Remy's birthday!
Remy: Look, my pajamas now match my skintone!
Well, look at that.
I decided to start using traits to make things more interesting, so these are Remy's traits so far:
Artistic (Britta) // Bossy (Joel) // Genius // People Person
Despite all the drama, Remy had a good toddlerhood and is excited to be a child now and one step closer to getting a job (apparently - she obviously doesn't understand what the real world is like yet...), which she happily discusses with her father.
Remy: Do you have a really nice desk at work, Dad?
Joel: Um, sure - I mean, I will, once I get a job...
No one will want to hire you if you smell like snunk, you know.
Joel: *doesn't listen*
Aw, Remy really loves her mother!
Although, now that I think about it, I don't know if she has a bed yet...
Britta doesn't have a lot of downtime before it's babytime again!
Well, at least this'll get us to six kids sooner?
They both look the same at this point - black hair from their father and blue skin and blue-black eyes from their mother - so no reason to show both of them. There's a girl, Angie, and a boy, Edison.
Well, I suppose it makes sense for someone who wants to get a job so badly to enjoy school.
Or maybe it's the friend she brought home. And look, it's Leo Taylor's future girlfriend whether they like it or not, Kayla Archer!
Meanwhile, upstairs, Joel is visiting his ex-wife again.
You see, Britta has seen how wonderful Remy is, and she thinks that Joel should be the father of her next child/children as well. Joel looks very happy to help out, don't you think?
Um, oops.
Someone might be scarred now...
The twins were boring and are now toddlers! This is Angie, who definitely seems to have inherited her angular looks from her father.
Family Oriented (Britta) // Lucky // Oblivious
Sorry, Angie, but I think Edison wins the "Adorable Twin" prize!
Artistic (Britta) // Good Sense of Humor // Slob
Sorry for the cut-off upstairs, but I had to take a picture of this!
And after she had her fun using the staircase as a mini-rollercoaster, Remy headed off to her dad's. She lived with him for the weekend, so you'll see her a little bit in his update as well.
Before he returns home to his daughter, however, Joel decided to be a jerk to poor little Edison. Listen, I know that he isn't your kid, but you can't boo him just because he's only had about a day's worth of practice!
After he left, Britta saw that the previous day had been successful - Baby #4 is on the way!
Aw, Remy called her mother to see how things were going!
I swear this is a day later - with only two toddlers and an adult trying to keep them alive, not much happened.
See what I mean? This was a whole weekend in the span of five or so pictures. Anyway, time for the new baby!
And, thank god, it was just one. Meet Giselle Perry, who has the same genetics as Remy so far (hopefully she won't look the exact same, though).
Brooding (Joel) // Impulsive Shopper (Britta)
And that's it for this week! Britta now has four children that she's raising all on her own, even though Remy isn't in the picture (she'll be in Joel's end-of-the-week portrait since she was there when I was taking it). Ignore the OMSP - I couldn't make it invisible, for some odd reason, and Angie was actually stuck in the window for a while before I could finally move her. Anyway, hopefully Britta survives her LTW, because it definitely isn't easy without a partner or a job!
Notes:
- Britta's traits are: Family Oriented // Impulsive Shopper // Mature // Artistic // Sophisticated
- Soon after I had Craig move in, I kind of regretted it, since he wasn't my Sim and I wasn't that interested in him, so when I saw that pop-up about Britta's so-so week, I took it as a sign that she should get rid of him and just go it on her own for now.
- Britta really is struggling, money-wise - she sometimes makes a bit of money selling her art and using the flower arranger, but ultimately I want her to open a flower shop - hopefully sometime next week, but we'll have to see how that goes with toddlers and babies and her want to have another two before she's done.
