The Lynch-Davis Family: Week Two

Apr 12, 2015 17:39

My game seems to be working again (*fingers crossed*), so I was encouraged to finish up the latest update, so here's week two of the Lynch-Davis family (I switched the order around because all of their names are Lynch now, but I still want to keep the "Davis" part)!

From the round-up of Week One, this is what happened in the Lynch-Davis household last time: from the very beginning of the week, Vanessa Davis and Luna Lynch knew that they were more than childhood friends, and they quickly began a relationship. They had a daughter, Lena Lynch, and soon got married afterward, with Vanessa taking her new wife's last name. When they weren't following the whims of ACR, the whole family, including Vanessa's now-departed brother, Jesse, took care of the household garden and hope to open a grocery store at some point in the future. They're also trying to make more siblings for Lena, but neither were pregnant at the end of their week (I think).

We begin the week by meeting a new Sim who will play a big role in Sunset Bay - yet her name escapes me. Anyway, this is the owner of the local preschool - read more about it in the notes at the end. Hopefully that'll start up next week, so Vanessa wants to get in good for the benefit of future children.

And speaking of future children, Luna was apparently a bit shocked to see that there would be a little one on the way!
Luna: How could this happen?
How quickly she forgets the many times ARC led her and her wife into their bed...

She hasn't forgotten the child she already has, don't worry!

Luna gets plenty of Mommy-Daughter bonding time since neither parent has a job other than taking care of the garden for now.

*is blissfully unaware of the immending baby*

They won't let multiple children and years/days of marriage take away their romantic spark!
*sigh* They're just so adorable.

Vanessa's freetime is coming to an end, however, because she spies her future!
Vanessa: I'm going to turn into a bird and fly away from my beloved family?!
Look a little lower...

Look! It's the first Sim-owned lot in Sunset Bay! Vanessa took out a small loan to build this adorable little shop, called Davis Grocery or something else unique like that.

It's very small, but very green, and that's a very good sign in my book (obviously, since I'm the one who decorated it...)

And things start off great for the business and it's already at level 1!

But back to the Lynch-Davis house, where Luna is suddenly regretting those many woohoo sessions.
Luna: How did I already do this once?!
Tis a mystery.

*hangs head*
Well, Lena definitely isn't an only child anymore.

Um, ok. Meet Grant Lynch, who got this alien skin randomly (I'm a little worried that the skin might be super-dominant or something, but we'll have to wait and see), but otherwise he's definitely Luna's son - sorry, Vanessa. Maybe he'll get your business acumen!

And this is Haven Lynch, who looks the same except for her skintone, which definitely came from Luna. I'm a bit disappointed that no one got S3 skin, in between Luna and Vanessa's, but at least there's variety.

Hey, I'm not that desperate for a different skintone! I thought you were regreting all the woohooing, Luna?
Luna: La la la, I can't hear you over the sight of my naked wife.
*sigh*

They were so busy trying to fill this house that I nearly missed little Lena's birthday and her huge jump for joy!

She's very excited about getting out of diapers, apparently.

SHE IS SO ADORABLE!

And time for more adorable Mommy-Daughter bonding.

And then she's off for her first day of school! (I'm too lazy to try and set up a Sim-run school, so all the kids will go to the regular one, at least for now)
*sigh* They grow up so fast. *brushes a tear away*

Oh, look, there's the name of the store - Davis Foods & Goods! I obviously thought very deeply about that name.
Anyway, it continues to have a lot of success, so yay!

See? Not that you can tell from Vanessa's very excited reaction.

No, Lena - your mother is actually at home, you know, with you.

Aw, the poor baby isn't an A+ student on her very first day. So disappointing - at least if you're Lena, apparently.

Luna is determined to help her daughter improve her grades.

She was soon distracted by her other children, though - it's toddler time once more!

If you look closely, I think Grant has sharp little teeth. It's both adorable and terrifying.

Here is an adorable, post-makeover Haven. She is apparently a bit stumped by her bunny toy.

Lena is actually really excited about being an older sister, which makes me love her even more!

Will you two quit it?!

The store was doing so well that Vanessa decided to hire this townie to work the register...

...and she can properly focus on getting those gold stars!

Aw, Lena misses her uncle. They should have a family reunion next week or something.

And that's it for the Lynch-Davis family this week! I don't even remember if Luna or Vanessa is pregnant at this point - they certainly tried enough for it to be possible. For now, though, we end with this adorable family of five - next up, another growing family: the Perrys!

Notes:
- The preschool is going to be mostly based on the one in Oceanside Project; I'm not going to make mine as sophisticated, though - I'll basically just transport all the toddlers, and possibly some of their parents or older siblings if I'm bored, and they can bond with each other! It's a residential lot, so I'm not going to try and turn it into an actual business. The owner (whose name still escapes me) isn't really playable - I'll probably just pop over to her lot whenever I'm in a household that has toddlers, like the Lynch-Davises next week, so I'm not too worried about her earning money or anything.
- I am determined to keep the Davis last name alive, so I might wait and see which of the kids are closest to Vanessa and have them take on her last name when they grow up.
