My uncle always believed one should be able to care for oneself.
It's not expert cooking, but if I can find a recipe, I should be able to do it.

...I suppose there are such beings called turkeys and pigs but those are weird and rare pets for the rich.

An hybrid of a turkey and a pig...? One is a flightless avian and another an ungulate mammal. They don't even share the same genus. How can it be?
Both are common as cattle in our world, but never a hybrid. Well, no successful hybrids from different biological kingdoms altogether, at least

The turkeypig is just born a turkeypig. Just like a deercow and turtlebear, and all the other animals are.
Animals like 'pig' or 'turkey' are rare pets.
