OMG. This makes me ache for our show because I want to see this scene be canon. This was beautifully done. I loved all the imagery of Colby out on the ocean, surfing, and finding peace.

I also laughed hysterically at the image of David hopping on one foot and cursing as he tried to get the sand out of his shoe. FOCL. This was a great read!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing it here!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

(One tiny edit though: Since this is a general fic, could you please edit the subject and the body to say "Colby, David" - people see Colby/David and they will think this is a slash fic with Colby and David as more than FBI partners (unless you meant it that way, but since you tagged the fic general, I don't think it's what you meant.)

Seriously loved this. Was completely worth the wait. And I love that a surfer wrote this because it was like we were really out there with him, using the lingo and everything. UGH. So good.

thanks, hun! :) Have edited as requested. And yeah, my 'happy place' is out on the ocean with my board, so I can kinda relate to that aspect of Colby in a pretty big way (us surfers are a bit weird like that!) Really glad you liked it!

I am not a surfer, but I would be if I were about 8 stone lighter so I totally understand. haha. The ocean is my happy place too, even if as far as I go out is where there's still earth beneath my feet, so I can relate. I could stand in the ocean for hours and not think about a thing, or sit on the shore and watch her. She's like an old friend. I'm so glad to be back to NC where I can go to the beach any ol' weekend I want.

The ocean's the mother of us all, Candi! And yeah, a bit tied up in the SNAFU launch at the moment (it goes live on the 11th July and is apparently garnering some serious interest, thanks to the big-name writers involved - not me, (expletive) knows how I ever snuck my damn story into the bugger! But I'm in the company of some seriously high calibre writers such as Jonathan Maberry and James A Moore) and am waiting to hear from a publishing house regarding my steampunk novel, but as soon as I get a spare half hour, I'm sure I'll be able to do a couple more Colby-centric fics at some stage! :)
