"Idiot"? You're too hard on yourself; these posts are easy for me because I've been immersed in the world of computer hardware since junior high (or "middle school" for anyone below age 35 or so). I haven't managed to present a Grand Unified Field Theorem here; if I manage to make them an informative and enjoyable read, I am content. And that reminds me; I need to get on Part 7 of this series so I can start getting caught up to modern computing...
