I've been waiting to read your thoughts on the finale. As someone who loves Chloe and is a huge fan of Ki's work and an amazing writer, you're someone who's opinion I hold in high regard and I'm very happy to see that your thoughts ran along the same lines as mine.
Chloe was awesome. Lex was awesome. Thank God Clark finally flew. It's stupid that Tess dies and my God, a lot of it was just very boring. Not to mention that Clark had to be pushed and cajoled and talked into his destiny by everyone.
But in the end I can't really care about much when Chloe has been given her happy ending. It's all I've wanted since forever so yay.
A lot of it was boring, wasn't it? It's like the writers kind of gave up on the story arc a few episodes into the last season and as a result the climax of it all was just so ABC that there wasn't enough plot to fill a ten-minute timeslot, nevermind a two hour finale.
But like you, the only thing I really cared about was that Chloe seemed to finally be recognised as... well, pretty much the most awesome character in the show. I spent a lot of time moaning over this show and how they often completely wasted her potential season after season. And they kept right on doing it, even in the final season, though maybe not to the same degree as previous seasons.
It's a good job by standards are pretty low for this show, though. I was happy with three simple things: Chloe, Chloe/Ollie and Lex.
