I finished Vicki Pettersson's latest book a few days ago and I'm still in awe, to be honest. I don't think I have any Pettersson fans on my list, but just in case: ( Spoilers. Majorrrrr. )
Totally agree!

I just finished the book tonight and I just had to look for someone that had read it to, cause none of my friends have read it. So I basically googled "WTF! Hunter is Jaden Jacks!" and I found your post, hehe... Anyways, u've basically said everything I was thinking about so I'm just glad to know that someone was as shocked as I was about the whole thing. I read through the book kinda fast and at times felt like there was so many details I had to trudge past but as is customary in Vicki's books all the "work", i feel, is always worth it at the end. And boy what an ending it was! I can't believe Vicki had the guts to break Joanna's heart AGAIN! it was both painful and brilliant and I'll never forget the emotional rollercoaster "City of Souls" put me through. -Nicole-

I know! I was gobsmacked! I think I sat there for a good ten minutes with my mouth open. The details are what I love about Pettersson's books. Because even though you know they mean something, even though you KNOW it's going to be important, Pettersson is so unpredictable that you find you had little chance of figuring it all out before she wanted you to. The little puzzles and the mysteries and stuff are what I really like about the series, too.
While a part of me was really sad that this happened to Jo (because she finally managed to leave Ben behind and she finally chose to fight for what she wants), on the other hand I know that this whole subplot is going to make the future books more interesting in someway. Because no way is that story finished with. There's too many unanswered questions and I know Hunter's role is going to be more significant now that this has all been revealed. Now I just have to wait patiently for the next installment. Ahhh!
Pettersson fan, checking in here! (Which you can take the credit for, incdientally ;) ) OMG, it's on my Wish List, I'm itching to read it now.
I've started Kim Harrison by the way - liking it so far, it feels very helter-skelter and hectic. Hasn't made me laugh out loud as much as Karen Chance did. Have you read any Jim Butcher? It's of a kind, though the vie point is definitely more masculine. But for light reading and a bit of a laugh, it's a good series.
(I also have 'Let The Right One In' in my to-read pile, which looks like it might be epicly creepy.)
Oh no! Ki, stop reading this if you haven't read it yet! You'll spoil yourself! There are more spoilers in the comments so avert your eyes! :( I'll send you the e-book if you want :)
No, you're right, Harrison isn't as laugh out loud as Chance. She is fun, though. And Jenks is quite amusing :) I think the only problem with this series is that it's starting to drag a little now. But they're still fun reads.
Jim Butcher is on my to-read list and has been for a while. I know I'd really enjoy him so once I've finished the new Richelle Mead book, the new Karen Marie Moning book, and the first Gabaldon book (which my mum keeps insisting that I bloody read), I will get to him (hopefully =P).
Let The Right One In... isn't there a film based on that? Vampires, right?
