Changes... Must... Happen...

Guinness is good for you... but so is exercise and good food.

I need to make a change... I know, I know... it's one of those things that we always say... but seriously, you have to pick a day to do it... and today is just as good as any day.

I haven't been getting "as drunk" as I used to a few years ago.  (OK, so as I have a few months ago.)  (OK, ( Read more... )

You probably already know, and I think it's inherent in what you've written, that the change is not going to happen until you're fully invested in the idea that the "you" that you area right now is no longer acceptable in its state of health. Otherwise, whatever actual or perceived benefits you're getting from alcohol and food that's unhealthful will prevail.

Congrats on the small changes and the baby steps.

Interesting way of putting it. And you're right, same reason smokers won't quit even though they know it's bad for them.
I go through phases in my life where things get to extremes before I change them... I think the drinking and eating and lack of exercise hit one of those "peaks" recently and I'm ready for a change. I'm riding the wave.
I guess there are aspects of drinking and eating that I love and won't stop... but in my mind there's a difference between eating and drinking in a healthy way versus a glutenous way. And I'm all ready for a healthy change.
*hugs*
