So ... update on the job search.

I met with the company's CEO Tuesday. It went very well; the phrases "perfect fit" and "knocked it out of the park" were tossed in my direction. I figure I'll get a phone call sometime this week with a job offer. I mean, I've interviewed with three people, including the CEO. I've submitted numerous writing samples.  ( Read more... )

I haven't said anything until the e-mail today, because until now it sorta made sense (I interviewed with one VP, immediately afterward they revamped the position and its responsibilities, so I had to interview with another VP who would be the boss. Then I interviewed with the CEO.).

We're trying to work out a deal where we cut our beach trip short by a half-day, and I use that time to do these interviews. We'll see if that pans out. If that doesn't work, though, I may need you to pretend to be my sister and get deathly ill.

The best thing would be if you could pretend to die while you're on the phone. And maybe give birth at the same time.

I've let them know that scheduling this many interviews/meetings in a month's time is putting me in a delicate position at my current job. I could sorta understand if I was gonna be a VP or something, but my understanding is this would be a communications manager position. I'll WORK with the VPs on a regular basis, but I won't BE one.

No kidding. And throw in a huge signing bonus for all the pain and suffering this interview process caused!

You should try searching for a new job AFTER you lose the old one, MUCH less sneaking around.

Anyway, hope the next meeting closes with an offer letter and a handshake.
