Knowing the Truth
Dean knew a lot of things to be true.
He loved being with Seamus. He loved his wit, their interests overlapped and, most importantly, they never felt the need to talk about the war; they’d both seen it, and that was enough for both of them.
He couldn’t imagine being with anyone else; Seamus was everything to him.
But when Seamus would, late at night, with a quiet whisper ask him the important question -
“Do you love me, Dean?”
- Dean would answer, “Yes, I do.”
He knew what a lie it was. He suspected Seamus did as well.
