I didn't even know what it _was_, or what it did. And then I tried to buy/download the Word suite (to type papers and things), and accidentally purchased Vista again (it came with my computer, too). 16 hours of downloading, and still know Word. Called Microsoft, near tears: "Why can't I open Word?" After much looking around, it was discovered I'd gotten Vista (again, like a nasty bug). I was outright crying, just wanting to type my thesis, plus asking the man, "Well what _is_ Vista? What does it do? What does it do to my computer? Why did I buy it?" He said, "It makes your computer run. It connects it to the Internet." I said, "It _already ran_. It connected to the Internet--it always _did_." He couldn't end up answering me "what Vista did," and eventually shuffled me off to someone who could sell me the Office Suite. Sigh. If I'd only seen this video sooner...

oh god, i'm sorry. it really is a virus, isn't it?

it really says something about Microsoft support people, too, that they couldn't actually tell you what an operating system does.
