yeah... i'm already an at*t/cingular customer, and needed a new phone. it's totally worth it when you can, though. (and you can gloat that you waited for gen 2, which will undoubtedly blow the pants off this one.)

I do, I do :-) it was $499 (plus stupid NY tax) for the 4gb model. You know, I watched all the promotional stuff, but I didn't realize how cool it was until I played with it and put on all my contacts and my bookmarks and everything.

awesome - but aren't you in grad school? how the hell could you afford an eleventy-million dollar phone?

it better give you backrubs at that price.

then again, if and when the price goes down (a lot) - i'd consider one.

I'm justifying it because I needed a new phone anyway, and now I'm gonna sell my ipod (because it does that too).

What's another couple hundred when I'm going to be thousands of dollars in debt anyway?

yeah! it's sort of a dangerous mentality, but when used sparingly I think it's a pretty good one. I mean, 95% of the time, I live like a poor grad student. And then I splurge, and that's okay.

what's your laptop situation/desire?
