Happy Friday Saucy Dwellers! Did you find a sweet thrift score, proud of a paint job, want to show off pictures of your new saucy sofa? Inspired by something you saw or just want to leave a show-me-your... request?
I (nearly) finished my new bedroom months ago, but I always forget to post about it during open sauce. Now these pictures are slightly outdated, but they'll do.
I could definitely see a folding screen; it'd look good with my bedside table. The only reason my tapestry isn't over my bed (where it would seem to make the most sense, I agree) is because I thought the combination of it + my comforter would be too busy and clash. The tapestry has a different feel from the comforter and I thought they might look too crazy so close together. Maybe I'm the crazy one, I don't know!
The two thoughts I'd been toying with most were this woven wooden one and this cushion idea.

I haven't posted in ages, but I've got some AWESOME thrift finds to share! I really wish I had a bigger apartment, because I don't enough space for all the cool furniture I'm finding! :(
(Sorry for the thumbnails rather than full-sized pics, but no matter what I did on Photobucket to resize them they still showed up HUGE when I previewed the post here, and I wanted to spare you all the pixel overload LOL. If you click the image you should be able to get a full-size view!)
First off I got this Haywood Wakefield-esque "dog bone" chair for $6. It's different than a HW dogbone chair, so I don't think it's an actual HW, but I love its lines and profile. I covered the faded blue seat cushion with a thrift store tee shirt ($0.99) I had been meaning to take in and never gotten to. I like the way it looks - sort of updates the chair without taking away from its vintage charm. It goes great with my new 1940s library stand ($15)! As you can see, one of my kitties, CJ, also approves of the new chair.

I got this cool vintage wood and metal wall shelf for $5 - it has cool metal lattice-work on the back and is perfect for holding my vintage spice jars. I also got a little primitive spice rack at the same store for $3.
And the jackpot.....redlotus13December 3 2011, 06:05:55 UTC
And now for the coup de grace, my vintage Eames-style lounge chair!!! Got it for NOTHING on craigslist. No ottoman, and it's not a real Eames, but it's in perfect condition and comfy and I love it. I bought some houndstooth fabric and black buttons to make some tufted throw pillows for it. I'm SO excited! Wanted one of these forever, and never thought I'd get one! I was SURE that the guy would have sold it by the time I found it on CL and emailed, but he still had it and even delivered it for me same-day!

Also, if you do not mind my asking, where is that sectional sofa from? I have been looking for something exactly like that.
