Furniture Rehab: Stripping Wood Stool Legs

lepapillonvert asked me to share this over here (originally from my blog) since it might help out some DIYers in this neck of the woods.

I recently found this mid-century stool at an estate sale and my husband finagled it down to $5. We of course took it home and I have set out to peel away the layers of grime and dated finishes to make it lovely again.

Good call! I have 2 mid-century chairs with round tapered legs I'm nervous about starting. Might have to give this a try.

Thank you for sharing this process! I'm adding it to my Memories. I have some refinishing projects to do but I've lacked motivation to research how to DIY them. I needed great instructions and photos of the process to fall into my lap, err, onto my Friends page, to motivate me. Noting briansiano's suggestions in the comments as well!

Ooo. Looks fabulous. We have a pair of bent-plywood armchairs needing some refinishing as well. Too bad I can't just pop the arms off like you did for the stool.
