Our Bathroom.

My boyfriend and I bought our house almost 2 years ago and we finally finished our bathroom this weekend. Our house was built in 1907 and was (still kind of is) a total fixer upper. Lucky for us my boyfriend works full time as a licensed contractor, so he's been doing all of the renovations himself after work and on the weekends.

Completely amazing! This is exactly the kind of bathroom I want to have when I buy a home. You guys did a great job; I think the shelves are totally awesome.

LOVE the tub. Do you have any tips on changing out a regular tub for a clawfoot tub? I've seen it done a few times, and when I have my own place, I'd definitely like to do it, but have no idea how hard it might be.

thanks! i'll have to ask my boyfriend for specifics when he gets home from work, but i think they removed the old tub, replaced the sub floor because it was rotted, put down cement board and tile... i'm sure he did other stuff too, like changed the plumbing.

I want to live there!

I'd give anything for one of those tubs. When I was growing up, we lived in an apartment that had one. It was hard to get into because it was so tall, especially when you're a little child. So I never thought much about it one way or the other. I just assumed every house was like that. Boy, was I wrong! I've moved many times and have never seen one again. I can't think of any friends who have one either.

Ok, dumb question. How does one carry a tub like that and then get it through a doorway?

very carefully! lol our house is on a raised foundation, so him and a friend had to go up about 5 steps before the put it on a dolly and rolled it into the bathroom.
