Rainbow House

Jun 15, 2009 14:40

I just moved into my first house last week (granted, it's still a rental, but we get the whole house to ourselves)! We just got done putting things away and someone pointed me to this group. All the rooms were painted crazy colors when we moved in, just FYI. I hope you guys like the place and, as always, feedback is always appreciated :D

SO UNFAIR that you got a PRE-PAINTED RAINBOW HOUSE. *stares at eggshell, not-allowed-to-be-painted, rented walls and cries*

Thank you! The Mister just couldn't stomach the purple, haha, so we went for broke and I'm glad we did 'cause I love the blue too!

I get the feeling that someone REALLY broke the rules a few years back which is awesome 'cause it gives us free reign, pretty much, to paint whatever we want! When we moved, the landlord asked us if we wanted them to repaint it all with their signature gray/white and we were like "Um... no? But can we add more colors?" Haha ;)

Beautiful!! Are these the crazy colors or repainted colors? Either way, I love them!

The only color we've changed is the light purple in the study. Other than that, I like the others! The bright-bright green of the kitchen is a bit grating in certain lights (I think the color is called "Fusion" or something), but I think I can tone it down with window dressings this week. I just love having color at all after living so long with white white walls :D

I think that one's Sherwin Williams as well. And I double-checked; the name is indeed Fusion :) It's actually a great color, but I wish they'd put in darker cabinets to really play it up. The mid-tone ones just don't do it for me, haha.

this contribution shows that 'saucy' does not come in one particular style or taste, but that what's done well, visually coherent, tastefully and beautifully can be recognized by anyone as saucy, whatever their personal taste. thnx for showing us another great way of the sauce. :)

Aw, that's such a nice thing to say, especially since you see such amazingly saucy homes here every day!! Thank you so much!

I love that circular coffee table! Where's it from?

Oh my gosh, I have no idea! It's older than my mom... I believe my grandmother picked it up when she first got married and stained it (and the two end tables) darker. There doesn't seem to be any stamp or manufacturer label. Sorry!
