This has actually been really inspiring to hear and see right now. My budget just got slashed halfway through redoing our interior and replacing certain long-broken hand-me-downs and I've been in a bit of a funk about it. I really love what you've done with the whole place (and yes, including the post-it wall. I still want one.) It's inspiring.
I own two new pieces of furniture: my mattress and TV cabinet. Everything else is from thrift stores, family members' attics, craigslist, or someone else left it out for the trash man. EVERYTHING. I repainted, refinished, or reupholstered most of it, but that was fun and now no one else has stuff like mine.
Your comment means a lot to me. Getting your budget slashed must be so frustrating! But don't let it make you sad. Let it make you creative. :)
I've thought about it, but I like the way it looks blank. But I may ask my friends to write secret messages on the parts that are covered by other post-its.
What about dust, is that an issue as it accumulates on them? And, do you just replace rogue post-its, or are they super-stuck/glued to the wall? How interesting! Everything is fabulous.
