Happy New Year!

Jan 01, 2009 08:29

Yes, it is early but I have to get the Hoppin' John started for our New Year's Day feast! Some of you have read on my journal that we are moving again. I wanted to archive some of this house that I have known my entire life. I hope you enjoy. All images click through to larger versions and several have notes on them.

What a lovely home. I especially love the large bust in the living room and the altar in the bedroom.
As a beadcrafter, the way you've displayed the vintage jewery in the tray caught my eye immediately.
My sweet mother-in-law gifted me an amzing collection of vintage goodies and you've given me an idea for a unique arrangement.

Glad I could be of help. :) I adore vintage jewelry and luckily I'm far away from my two favorite shops in Atlanta.

I forgot to mention that I got the display from http://stores.ebay.com/NYCDISPLAY.

You have impeccable taste and I love the statue that anchors the living room.
Inspirational, thank you!

Thank you. We hope to have her anchored in the garden one day. Under a protective cover of course.

it would take a not small fortune to make me give up a house that great!!

Unfortunately it would probably take a small fortune for us to fight to stay under the original terms of the sale. Long story.

that's really sad, especially since it's a family home :( how horrible.

It all serves a greater purpose. We can't look back with regret as it will only hamper our ability to make a new life. :)

Such a gorgeous house :)

I am looking forward to the day we can really 'settle' into a place.
You and I both! I hope that goes well for you xx
