Fabulous. I bet it completey effects the way you use / enter the house as well. The new door was definitely a good idea.
The real thing also looks so much better than the initial design - as mentioned above because of the thinner rails that are close together - but also because of the plant choice. The looser azaleas are a good choice. Have you thought about filling in the remaining space with more hostas to make a nice groundcover - maybe with an underplanting of yellow and white daffodils inthe sping? Hydrangeas - especially white varieties like H. arborescens 'White Dome' or H. arborescens 'Annabelle' would look really great with this house too - especially left of the red azalea and around the corner.
You're right, it totally changes the way I enter the house. Mucho, mucho love it!
Thanks so much for the landscaping suggestions. Since this house is an ever evolving work-in-progress, I'm sure we'll toy with the flora, as well! I do love hydrangeas...
