My girlfriend bought us tickets to go see him on January 4th here in Ottawa. I was excited as all hell to see James Brown one last time before he died.

I found out about this while I was at my parents' house. It was a bum out trip, let me tell you what. James Brown was prevelant in every decade from his gospel roots in the 50s to his resurgence in the 90s that was caused by every fucking body sampling his records and ripping him off.

This generation might be the first to grow up without James Brown. It's a fucking sad thought.

This generation won't be any luckier than the previous generations without James Brown. Although, they can be luckier if it's required listening in schools.

In GTA: San Andreas, James Brown played in the casinos.
