Bought 2 copies Wed. I now have a standing order for two every month. As a comic retailer, can you tell me whatever happened to just being able to subscribe to a comic, and have it mailed to you? I mean i like my comic store, but it's about 20 minutes away from my house downtown, and is kind a pain to have to keep driving down there for just that.
I think the only companies that do that are Marvel and maybe DC. It's a lot of extra logistics I would guess to handle all the subscritions and for companies that don't have tons of different titles it's probably not worth it to do a subscription department.
Also think on this: If a company starts really pushing subscriptions then as a store owner I start pushing other comics from other companies because I don't want to put time and money supporting a company that's going to cut me out the first chance they get.
The big thing is that almost everyone I've talked to who has had a subscription has had problems with comics being damaged or late. And most people like their comics in good shape since they're collectible.
I don't about your local store but we offere an in store subscription service and also a mail order service. If you didn't want to go to the store once a month you could always ask them to ship it to you. If they don't want to I certainly would. :)

(I also sort of stumbled onto the Dark Horse site - when I googled it - and I read spoilers for the next three issues.)
