I was down at the pool when a guy from PG&E stopped by to turn off the gas to the spa. He said that they have 100 guys going around town turning off the gas. They can turn it off without anyone being at home, but they can't turn it on unless you're actually there. They expect to have all houses turned off by midnight tonight, and will start ( Read more... )

Did you lose power as well as gas. What a bummer on a holiday weekend.

No, just gas so no cooking, no drying of clothes, and no hot water. Sort of like camping light.

The gas power went out early Saturday morning in about a third of Davis (7000 customers). They had to turn off the gas at each house before they worked on the main pipes, then come back after the problem was resolved to turn all of them bach on again (the dryer, the stove, and the hot water heater).
