Writer's Block: Two Truths and a Lie

Sep 04, 2009 09:34

I pulled a groin muscle while water-skiing.
I played bass in seven local rock bands.
I wrote a book that was translated into five languages and sold over 200,000 copies.

Have fun guessing which is which! :)

I'm pretty sure the last one is true, so I'm going to guess the first one is the lie!

I'm guessing it wasn't seven bands.

Hard one.

3) Since you write books this one sounds true
2) Since you played in bands, this one also could be true
except for the for the number of bands [can only
verify 5].
1) Sounds like it could true but no real way of checking
it out [nothing in your bio]

So like others I'll go with 1.

Actually, Carla, you and Orca are correct.

I did, in fact, strain a very painful place while water-skiing back in 1991 or '92. Mage: The Ascension 2nd Edition had sold - as of the time I left WW - somewhere around 400,000 copies (briefly displacing both Vampire: The Masquerade and D&D in sales rankings), and has been translated into - as of my knowledge - Spanish, German, French, Portuguese and Russian. I DID play bass in a number of bands back in the '80s-'90s, but not seven of them - five, actually, only two of which played more than two public gigs. I had thought about making up some more outrageous lies, but thought it'd be more challenging (and amusing) if I posted some unlikely truths and a slightly-distorted fact instead. Thanks for playing, folks! :)
