Pressing Ninja Questions

Jan 26, 2004 20:26

a) Should I write depressing SasuNaru about Sasuke, or same about Naruto?

b) If I were to write a Mary Sue, should I go after Temari or Anko?

c) Is it legitimately Shounen Jump to have a major character heavily laden with Catholic imagery, or am I straying too far into Hana to Yume territory? (Excluding the fact that, like, half the cast is gay. I never said I was consistent.)

For answering these questions, you get a drabble.

Temari catches him as he leaves the house. It's late, and the desert is quiet- her sand mask is down around her neck. "The alarms went off," she says casually.

"I'm leaving."

"Where will you go?"

"Anywhere." His eyes, lined black, boar into her like screws. "If you try to stop me, I might kill you."

She shrugs. "I can't stop you. It would be stupid to try. Kankuro says the East Gate is unoccupied, though, if you want to avoid casualties."

He thinks for a moment. "...I'll remember it," he says, throat bone dry, voice rattling.

Temari's eyes widen. She stares at him for a long time.

"I used to think you were nothing but a monster," she says finally. "I was angry that Father payed you so much attention. I'm still angry. I'm still terrified of your power. But, Gaara-"

Her voice breaks a little bit.

"You're my brother. I don't hate you."

He thinks again. There seems to be nothing, good or bad, he can possibly say.

Temari moves forward, as if to touch him, then shakes her head and draws back again. The sound of people is slowly snaking through the air towards them.

"Good luck," she says.
