Handwavey Time Goes Here fatal_shiranui March 25 2008, 13:02:20 UTC
It had felt like forever, it really had. But now it was over and Mai could rest once again, just ignore the fact that she had just been close to sobbing just by the mere sight of her child. She was healthy, she knew that, just by the sound.

Once she actually had her in her arms was when she had truly calmed down, cooing gently to her as she just seemed to ignore everyone else that was there. Mai didn't feel like speaking to them, not now, no.

"My darling little girl." She muttered quietly, grinning a bit at the tad bit of squirming. "A work of art you are."

Akuma had dropped his seeming as soon as it was clear both child and mother would make it through. Guarding against both electronics and the naked eye was arduous, using both techniques simultaneously.. but more than worth it, as he stood beside his woman and his child.

His child. His child. This slight creature, all pink skin and huge mouth, came from himself and Shiranui together. It was PROOF of their bond.

So then why did he feel nothing for this squirming bit of flesh?

Deciding she should at least take her eyes off the little squirming thing for a moment she glanced towards Akuma, just grinning the whole while. "Well...?" She questioned quietly, making sure to keep her close to her.

There was no way in hell Mai was going to let her baby girl out of her arms.

...What should he say? 'Job well done?' 'Congratulations?' Offer her a handshake? This was utterly ridiculous of him.. and her, as well.

A hand smoothed down Mai's matted hair, blunt fingers slipping down the smooth, sweat-slicked column of her neck and massaging with practiced skill. (She'd demanded it often enough, after all.) "She is very... pink."

Feel free to imagine the note of humor that usually accompanies a pronouncement like this, Mai. You're tired, and it would probably be easier all 'round.
