Hrrmph, just as I get back into this running lark, I get lurgified. Had a lovely morning cocktail today of fizzy vitamins** + echinacea extract + Beechams powders and hope to be reasonably presentable again by Sunday for mile 17 duties supporting fellow Runners World forumites who are doing the London Marathon ( Read more... )

In my 50th year I have the blood pressure of a 30 year old, but , unfortunately, the knees of a 70 year old!!
Good luck with the training , but you know to be careful out there if you've got the lurgy.

lovely to see you preening a bit. I don't think fitness necessarily influence speed beyond a certain point - it might just enhance endurance?
