Hello! It's my first time here at your journal (barely an hour!), and I think it has already opened my eyes a lot. I really appreciate your liberal and insightful comments about things that I have never noticed before, or rather, never really made an effort to. Also, I like it that you point out little facts and flaws in Arashi's concert lives/ varieties shows/ etc, which may not seem obvious to less experienced and younger fans such as myself, as I find that most fans, myself included, have a tendency to take and view things on its surface, instead of delving deeper and finding those things that are also really worth seeing.
My knowledge is generally limited, so I don't really have a broad range of topics to talk about. I'm a 15 year old Singaporean student (I'm Chinese), studying in a normal secondary school. And well, I have to confess that I'm a new-found fan of your posts now. :D
Hi there! Yay new readers! I am always flattered when people find my ramblings interesting, so thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment! Since my real life is so busy right now with school and recruiting, I can only post sporadically, but I hope you'll check in once in a while and see what I am up to. My best LJ friend is Chinese Singaporean too! It's so cool to get to meet people from around the world. Ah, the wonder of the internet. Anyway, nice to meet you and hope to see you around!
Hello, person who leaves awesome comments on my fic! I really appreciate those btw, and ever since I popped over here I've been pretty impressed cause I don't often (okay, close to never) see such lucid, spot-on fandom posts. I would like to read what you write on a regular basis and since I'm so bad at keeping up with different LJs, I hope you don't mind if I friend you. :D Chinese Singaporean too!
hello, person who writes awesome fics that make my day a hell of a lot brighter.
of course i don't mind you adding me, and i added you right back! It's so funny because my best lj friend is Chinese Singaporean too. Her username is oviparous. I wonder if you know her.
Hello! I've been lurking for awhile, but when I finally gave in and decided to get an LJ, I felt like I should leave a comment here. I'm sure you get this a lot, but your posts on Arashi are really awesome. I always get a kick out of reading them!
Btw, I was just wondering if you are shin-nisei? I'm a JA too (well half, my other half is Chinese) and a shin-nisei. My Japanese American friends don't really follow Arashi for silly reasons (something about how it's "embarrassing" to be a fan of a JE group) so it's really refreshing to meet a JA that enjoys talking about them. Aside from that, I'm finishing up my undergraduate studies, and am going through the typical worries about what to do with my life after school. I probably will try to earn a masters in public health. Anyways, I can't wait to read more of your posts! :D
Yeah, Shin nisei is the new wave of second generation Japanese Americans usually born around the 1980s. I don't really know the kanji...that's always been my weak spot in Japanese school when I was younger XD.
And I see your point about JE. I don't really follow any other JE band but Arashi, and before I heard of them I stayed away from Japanese idol groups in general. I guess the rainbows and the sparkles Arashi exudes sometimes blind me from seeing why people wouldn't want to like them (even though they're missing out!) :D
It's pretty damn scary right now, especially with our lovely economy. -_- You have no idea how many times people have told me to stay in school or how unlikely I'd be able to get a job. I might have to take you up sometime for advice!
I am now interested in Japanese language. I really love learning the new language but avoid Japanese in the past because I think it would be too difficult. (No matter how much I love The Gospellers and how good I am in learning German, Chinese.) However, as I addicted to DBSK/Tohoshinki, I would love to learn some additional language and I tend to love Tohoshinki stuff more than DBSK...so Japanese is my choice.
Hope one day I will be able to write the comment in Japanese.
haha yeah i did change my intro. It was getting kind of old and felt outdated, so I decided to axe it. I also wanted to reflect my interest in DBSK.
i love learning languages too! What is your native language (people speak so many languages around here so i never know). Japanese is apparently the hardest language to learn from an English speaker's point of view, so if your native tongue is English, then... best of luck!! lol. I am teaching it to someone now and I never realized how damn complicated it is as a language.
My native language is Thai. Now, my English is getting worse day by day as I don't have much chance to speak English in my home country. (You can notice that from lots of errors in my comment here. XD) My German is totally corrupted. Chinese...I should learn a lot more...and now I start learning new language HAHAHAHA!
I think...Japanese grammar + Kanji = hardest grammar + hardest to memorize characters = most difficult language XD.
hi! omg I am so sorry my response is so late! the notification for your comment must have somehow slipped through my inbox...
haha i am glad that your mistake led to something that you ended up enjoying. i have a lot of lj friends from singapore~! It's so cool to get to meet people through LJ that I would never have run into in real life. haha I am starting to sound like Aiba-chan.
i can't post often but please be patient, and thanks for commenting!
