Um. I don't know if you'd like any of these, but West Wing, House, or anime? I wouldn't be good at giving you anime recommendations, though, because I don't think you'd like watching what I watch. >_>

West Wing I loved.
House I liked enough to watch a couple of episodes, but generally I don't like medical dramas and I just see Bertie Wooster every time Hugh Laurie comes on.
I like a few kinds of anime: mostly darker stuff - reign the conqueror was a favorite, cowboy bebop was okay, aeon flux was quite nice, i like some of the longer more beautiful movies, esp. from Mamoru Oshii.

Try going to http://www.anime-planet.com/ and typing in the ones you like; the website gives recommendations for similar animes.

Decided on "The Riches".

It is fucking great, and mostly because Eddie Izzard. (no copula required.)

I'm going to suggest Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Mainly because I just finished watching them and and I want to share my pain but also because there's 7 seasons of buffy and 5 of angel and it takes forever and a day to watch all of it it seems so at least it would keep you busy for quite some time...
