VIOLENCE!

Dec 17, 2007 12:18

Saturday's show was pretty amazing, not so much because of the bands (although they were all pretty good, especially Bastardator and Rammer), but because of the attitude behind it. NO bar, no restrictions, just "good, friendly violent fun" in a big necrotic loft. Bastardator gets better and better each time I see them, and even sloppy-as-a-tit- ( Read more... )

"necropolis" is my favorite manilla road song....i think. ask me in two days and it'll be different! it probably will always be my favorite, though, because it was the first manilla road song i heard (after the prologue, of course).

J:

i am tired.
and sleepy.
and also feeling a little exhausted.
did i explain that i'm mildly fatigued?

as for I Am Legend - i couldnt care less, but Luis seems pretty hyped about it.
regarding annoying house guests: people know better than to annoy me, it's never really been an issue. i'm pretty upfront and when i want a person to leave - they usually have the sense not to wait for me to tell them a second time.

Aw, I do my best, most of the time. You are probably more consistently awesome! :P

I read some more about this movie. Sounds like they changed the story quite a bit and made Will Smith's character into someone who had a direct impact on creating the plague or something and thus he feels responsible for curing it. I think I like the idea of the central character starting out as an innocent bystander much more.

i hate it when stories are manipulated for the masses.
with the innocent bystander approach, it seems more painful, like the struggle to understand what happened and the subsequent confusion is more human (so yes, by definition, more painful). making him the cause of the problem seems like they're skirting something, trying to take away from the intensity of the original story. yes? no?

I do wonder about this new version of I Am Legend, more worrying as its one of my favourite books! You never know I guess haha or maybe you do in this case!

It has Will Smith in it. That's a bad sign right from the start. I think I will see it after all .. just not in the theatre.

What do you think of the other movie adaptations?

The book is great .. it's been a pretty long time since I read that.

I've only seen The Omega Man out the two, I did enjoy it even if Charlton Heston was a bit manic!! Didn't quite have the Vampire-ish element of the book though.

What's Last Man on Earth like?

Cauldron is definitely a band I need to check out, although so is pretty much every thing in Annick's "Morbid Tales" zine.

My friends in Terra Caput Mundi did a cover of the same Manilla Road song.
