Ianto in Doctor Who

Firstly let me say: I think the Daleks are really cute! Even when they are exterminating whole populations!

I agree completely, that RTD's destruction of Ianto's character started well before CoE. Ianto was completely OOC in Stolen Earth and Journey's End and was shown 0 and filmed - in a completely unflattering light. There is no connection between the fat, pasty-looking woobie in those two Dr Who episodes and the kick-ass, snarky character in season 2 of TW. Or the man that successfully rescued his half-converted girlfriend from the midst of the battle of Canary Wharf, got her out of London and successfully installed in the heart of Torchwood 3.
For me, the systematic destruction of Ianto's character actually started with Lost Souls (if that came before Dr Who, I actually can't remember?)

Yeah, Lost Souls was weird because the 'skience' part was really stupid and the way Ianto was written, he might as well not have been in it at all.
