Jack in Doctor Who

BBC Three is showing reruns of Doctor Who, so last night I watched 'Utopia'. I was puzzled by something: When Jack goes into the radiation-filled chamber to raise or lower the whotsits so that the thingummy-footprint could be activated (I really didn't catch much of the skiency part), he is not affected by the lethal radiation, because he cannot ( Read more... )

It's just like that other scene - can't remember where it's from, always DW anyway - when they throw Jack in the incinerator and he gets out without a scratch and with his clothes intact.

You are completely right, of course.
There was also no reason why he needed to take his shirt off except that the white t-shirt looked much more effective in the red room than than the dark shirt.
Also, if he kept exploding and reforming, it would have completely ruined the one really charming scene between him and Ten in the whole show. Hmm, the whole series actually.
