Today I rewatched 'Captain Jack Harkness' from S1. This is one of my favourite episodes because it actually makes some use of Ianto as a character. And also Ianto looks deadly sexy in his waistcoat and purple shirt. I know, this episode is not strong on the 'Janto', but it is quite strong on Ianto, and that is much more important to me ( Read more... )

Agreed. If there was one thing that Ianto's death served to was to make me absolutely sure that I really don't give a fig about Jack. Not to mention the other characters and the stupid, now even stupider, and insipid show.

Yeah. It's interesting that in the word 'Janto', four out of the five letters come from 'Ianto'!

My favourite episode by miles. Tha actor who plays the real JH was just brilliant.

Hey, thanks for commenting! :) You just couldn't resist the historical gay romance angle! ;)
The entire set-up --- the doomed heroic man, the music hall, the dance, etc was wonderful and poignant. The only thing I did not quite like was the kiss itself. I like the fact that there was a kiss, it is just that the kiss was done a bit awkwardly. The actor who played real JH wanted to practice the kissing scene, but JB had wanted it to be spontaneous, so they didn't. I think they should have practised beforehand, it would have turned out better.

Everything about Ianto in this episode is sexy.
